Meridian Garden
Project Description:
The Meridian Garden in Indianapolis created for renowned art collector Rodney Miller carefully curates art, architecture, and landscape in a seamless design experience. The home serves as both a private gallery with a museum-worthy collection of Black contemporary artists, and a serene residence. The home was sited and the layout developed in collaboration in order to maximize a connection between the interior and exterior. Interior rooms are framed by landscape and views are extended out into the garden with lush native woodland plantings surrounding the home. The garden showcases a restrained minimalist approach reinforcing the architecture with a plinth of native perennials and shrubs, grove of magnolia trees, and sweetgum allée. A subtle diversity in complimentary planting design provides continues blooms throughout the year and seasonal interest. Locations for art and social spaces that connect the interior and the exterior were carefully located to be immersed in the garden.
