The Stutz

Project Description:

The renewal of the Stutz in Indianapolis brings an incredible collection of local businesses together in one creative, cultural, food and retail community. The Stutz was built in 1912 and produced America’s first production performance car renowned for their striking appearance, superb handling and speed. The Stutz Bearcat competed in the first ever Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1911. Today, the redevelopment celebrates this legacy with the Stutz Car Museum including rare vintage Stutz cars and Indianapolis history.

Former vehicular asphalt alleys have been transformed into pedestrian spaces with new trees, paving, planting, furnishings, and art that support social gathering and spill-out from adjacent businesses.

The community at the Stutz is a truly remarkable group including: Amelia’s bakery and provisions, Turner’s racing-themed dive bar concept, Barista Parlor coffee company, Taqueria de Julieta street taco concept, local favorite Cafe Patachou, Grounded Plant and Floral Company destination indoor plant and gift shop, Myriad health and fitness, St’artUp 317 retail incubator collaboration with WDRFA, Industrious co-working space, Vision Loft creative meeting and event space, the Pattern headquarters and more.
