Merritt Chase Selected to Renovate Point State Park

The Department of General Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has selected Merritt Chase to lead the renovation of Point State Park in Pittsburgh.

The revitalization of Point State Park presents a rare opportunity to update the most iconic public space in Pittsburgh. The goal of the project is to revitalize the 13 acres city-side of Point State Park. The renovations will include a modern operations facilities, visitor amenities, rehabilitation of historic features, circulation improvements, and upgraded infrastructure.

Merritt Chase is joined by frequent collaborators and Pittsburgh-based architects Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, civil engineers Langan Engineering, and cultural resource managers and historians Christine Davis Consultants. Additionally the team includes YA Group, BrightTree Studios, Allen & Shariff, Keystone, Aqueous, Urban Terrain, and HKA.

This comprehensive rehabilitation project represents a significant investment in Point State Park's continued vitality, ensuring the city-side of the park becomes a welcoming and integral part of this historic landmark while honoring Pittsburgh's heritage and serving contemporary visitor needs.
